The latest entry into the 5G phones market is the upcoming Nubia Red Magic 5G. You might not know Nubia as a brand, as other recent entrants into the smartphone market, such as Xiaomi and Oppo, have become more recognisable names, whereas Nubia never broke through outside of China.

But this new 5G phone from Nubia could change all of that. According to Nubia’s brand president, Ni Fei, the Nubia Red Magic 5G will be sold with up to 16GB of RAM, a 64MP camera, and even include an “air-cooled fast charging solution”. Ni Fei also confirmed that the phone would boast a 144Hz refresh-rate screen, 80W fast charging, and dual-mode 5G support.

Typically gaming-focused

Fei explained the air-cooled solution in further detail, saying that the device’s built-in cooling fan will kick in during fast-charging, and prevent the phone from overheating. On top of this, the clever device will monitor its body temperature throughout the charge cycle, and turn on the fan to cool down its surface temperature should it get too warm.

Fei also shared an image taken with the device, which appeared to show off an impressive level of detail in the Nubia Red 5G’s 64MP camera. And if the early optimism surrounding the Nubia Red Magic 5G is borne out in fact, then this phone will be a worthy contender within the ever-growing ranks of the 5G phone.

Nubia products are typically gaming-focused, making the Red Magic 5G perfectly placed to take advantage of 5G’s super-fast speeds and low latency. And with mobile gaming predicted to explode exponentially in the coming years, more users will be looking for gaming-focused smartphones.
