Samsung has announced the Galaxy A13 5G, vey affordable at $249 and featuring brilliant specifications for the price point including 6.5-inch 720 x 1600 display at 90Hz and a 50MP main camera. It’s available from today at AT&T and on Samsung.com and in January 2022 on T-Mobile.
Galaxy A13 5G specs
As well as the large 6.5-inch 720 x 1600 display, the Galaxy A13 5G boasts a massive 5,000 mAh battery with 15W fast charge support. It has a fingerprint sensor and a headphone jack and the 64GB of storage can be added to via a microSD card slot that lets users add up to 1TB of storage.
Camera wise, the main F1.8 50MP rear camera on the Galaxy A13 5G is joined by a F2.4 2MP marco and depth cameras, while up front there’s an F2.0 5MP selfie camera.
Power comes from a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip, which is the chip of the moment for decent budget 5G phones – we’ve recently seen it in the Honor X20 SE, Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G and Realme 8 5G.
“From innovative, core features to the high quality Samsung Galaxy is known for, the Galaxy A series represents Samsung’s commitment to providing consumers with powerful phones at every price point. Samsung Galaxy A13 5G continues this legacy by providing key innovations at an accessible price, including 5G connectivity,” Samsung penned, in a press release.
Galaxy A12 update
Indeed, the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G is a follow up to last year's $179 4G Galaxy A12, but with a $70 price hike – however given this model has some of the best specs of all budget 5G phones, we feel the increase is warranted. We can see the new 5G phone being very popular within the US budget 5G phone market and it’s certainly setting a precedent for the way things are headed with maximum technology for minimum consumer outlay.
